Supreme Court Strikes Down Majority of Trump’s Tariffs
23 Feb 2026, Posted by in Economics and Prices, National News, NewsWASHINGTON — On Friday, the Supreme Court ruled President Donald Trump overstepped his authority in imposing tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA).
“…we hold that IEEPA does not authorize the president to impose tariffs,” wrote Chief Justice John Roberts.
The ruling invalidated the majority of tariffs the President has implemented since he took office last year.
