Farming is a tough business under the best of circumstances.  But so far, 2026 has been anything but the best.  Rising input costs, a drought declaration before the season has even begun, and a severe freeze that caused major damage to fruit crops across the state – all making this year extra stressful.  It’s important to remember that while you’re taking care of your farm, you also need to take care of yourself.  Use the checklist below to help get through stressful times, and maintain a healthy balance in your life.

For more resources, visit FarmStateOfMind.org

One of these resources is a an online community called Togetherall that offers anonymous peer-to-peer support where farmers can talk to other farmers who may understand your challenges better than anyone.  There’s also a library of self-paced resources and access to free counseling and consultation services for farm family members through Personal Assistance Services (PAS). These resources are available free of charge due to the generous support of the Farm State of Mind Alliance partners.

Also, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the United States.
