New Jersey Plastic Bag Ban Would be Toughest Law in the Country

Both houses of the NJ State Legislature passed legislation that would ban plastic and paper grocery bags and polystyrene “clamshell” style food containers. The bill would also make plastic straws available in restaurants by request only. If signed by the Governor, the provisions would take effect 18 months after enactment.
